Joanne Loftis
Martin Webster
May 5, 1936 — Jul 16, 2025
Joanne Loftis Martin Webster passed away peacefully in Roanoke, VA, on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, at the age of 89. She was born in Roxboro, NC, to the late Flint and Lottie Loftis. Preceding her death are her brother, Dean Loftis (Betty), granddaughter, Shallen Martin, and great-grandchild, Chloe Martin.
She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Jack Smiley Martin, and together they had 5 boys. She was always saying, "I have 5 wonderful boys who I am so proud of". Those boys are Jack Martin (Edith), Jeffrey Martin (Joanne), James Martin (Stefanie), Jerry Martin (Cindy), and Joey Martin (Aimee), who survive. Also surviving her are ten grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Joanne is also predeceased by her former husband, Bobby Webster. Together, you would find them traveling and listening to him play music or her favorite pastime, family cookouts. Bobby had two children, Robert Webster (Deborah) and Donna Haddix (Tim, who is also preceding Joanne in death).
Joanne continued to laugh and smile throughout her declining health.
The family would like to give a big thank you to her amazing caregiver and family friend, Hope Dickerson. She was an angel in disguise.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at Valley Funeral Home Chapel beginning at 1 p.m. A visitation will be held one hour prior, and Joanne shall be interred at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Good Samaritan Sheila Strauss Hospice House. They took exceptional care of Joanne during her final days.
My Mom signed my birth certificate, and I signed her death certificate.
My Mom chose my first outfit, and I chose her last outfit.
My Mom watched me take my first breath, and I watched her take her last breath.
