Jeanne Meador Meador, born on May 29, 1940, in Roanoke, VA, passed away peacefully on September 17, 2024, in Roanoke, VA.
Jeanne was a talented cosmetologist and a true artist who excelled in everything she did. In the early 1980s, she owned and operated her own photo booth, and she had a gift for building, reconstructing, and perfecting whatever she touched. Jeanne was known for being a loving sister and an avid member of the Moose Lodge, where she loved to dance and socialize.
Jeanne was preceded in death by her father, George Carl Meador; her mother, Edith Ann Meador; and her sons, Donald Carl Burks and Ricky Dean Burks.
She leaves behind her loving sister, Katherine Mariea Hardy (John); her cherished grandchildren, Angela Decarla, Lousia Chapman (Daniel), Donita Katherine Burks (Holly), and Jenna Elizabeth Booth (Matthew); great-grandchildren, Hannah, Haylee, Jacob, and Logan Chapman, and Brady, Tessa, and Rowan Booth; her nieces, Michelle Rock (Darren); nephews, Michael and Mark Hardy; great-nieces, Lexi and Lily Rock; and her beloved pet, Precious.
Jeanne will be remembered for her creativity, kindness, and love of life. She will be deeply missed by her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
A Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, October 8, 2024, from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. to honor Jeanne's wonderful life.
In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to Good Samaritan Hospice, Franklin County Humane Society, or the Alzheimer's Association.
