Janet "Irene" Smith Cooper, 75, of Roanoke, Virginia, went to be with the Lord on December 6, 2025. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Lee Cooper, Sr.; her son, Marvin Lee Cooper, Jr.; her parents, John Robert Smith and Hattie Lucado Smith; her brother, Thomas Smith; and her in-laws, Earnest and Daisy Cooper.

Irene is survived by her son, Craig Cooper, and his wife, Samantha; grandsons, Jonathan Cooper and Bryceton Cooper; her "honorary" son, James Switzer; great-grandson, Kayden Cooper; sister, Kathy Griffen; several nieces and nephews; and other close family and friends.

Per Irene's wishes, there will be no viewing or memorial services.
