Obituary

Jane was a hardworking woman and worked at Klopman Mills in Denton, North Carolina for the majority of her life. She had the reputation of working the others on the line under the table. After leaving Klopman Mills she moved back home to Roanoke and began working for the Salem Walmart as the Department Manager over toys. Jane enjoyed outdoor activities, camping, and the beach until her illness. She had an amazing talent for knitting and most of all cooking. She could prepare meals like no other. She will be missed by all that knew her!

Jane is preceded in death by her mother, Virginia (Louise) Brickey Gray; her father, Alvie Paul Gray; her sisters, Rebecca Ann Gray Beckner, and Sandra Gray Combs; her son-in-law, David Allen Whitt; and her ex-husband, John Wesley Thomas.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Janie Louise Thomas, Jessica Dawn Whitt, and her fiancé, Brian King, and Joyce Yvonne Thomas; her son, John Wesley Thomas; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; her brother, Alvie Paul Gray; her sisters, Arlene Sue Gray Snellings, Debbie Gray Hamm and her husband, Joe Hamm, Peggy Gray Blankenship and her husband, Curtis Blankenship; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held at the Church of God of Prophecy on August 14, 2022, beginning at 2 p.m. (2301 Roanoke Ave. Roanoke, VA 24015)
