Jane Ann Shisler, 70, passed away on October 2, 2026, at a hospital in Salem, Virginia. She was born on September 30, 1956, in Rapid City, South Dakota, to Patsy Bryant and Joe Hudecek.

Jane found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She enjoyed spending time at the senior center, where she also served as chair of the Senior Citizens Committee for Grayson County, Virginia. She enjoyed baking and making jelly for those she loved. Jane loved watching birds and wildlife and had a special fondness for animals of all kinds. She also loved a good joke and had a keen sense of humor. Jane was truly one of a kind—full of a little spice, a big heart, and a memorable spirit that will be deeply missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Patsy Stevens and Joe Hudecek; her daughters, Patricia Hudecek and Lisa Hudecek; and several aunts and uncles.

Jane is survived by her husband, David Shisler; her daughters, Mary Van Swol and Elizabeth Shisler; her grandchildren, Curtis Keefe (Polina), Lisa Keefe, and Zariah Sigler; and her great-granddaughter, Isabel Keefe. She is also survived by her siblings, Jim Hudecek (Vicky), Kristi Hudecek-Ashwill (Martin), and Kelly Hudecek (Michelle); as well as seven nieces and nephews.

Jane’s love, humor, and spirited nature will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
