James Edward Wooldridge, affectionately known as Eddie, passed away peacefully on March 1, 2023, at Carrington Cottage in Daleville, Virginia. He was born on July 31, 1940, in Blacksburg, Virginia, to the late John and Minnie Wooldridge.

Eddie worked in roofing and construction and owned and operated his own business for many years. He was an avid NASCAR  fan and even owned his own racecar for a while. He spent many weekends at the Franklin County Speedway and several other racetracks. Eddie was full of life, loved telling jokes, and never met a stranger.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Minnie Sue Sarver Wooldridge; father, John Eugene Wooldridge; his life partner, Betty Kiser, two sisters, Ora Mae Arnold and Glenna Hogan; and two brothers, Lewis Wooldridge, and Ray Wooldridge.

Those left to cherish precious memories are his daughter, Lori Wooldridge; grandchildren, James Dailey, Timmy Dailey, Traci Brads (Ryan), James Dehart and Billy Hyler; great-grandchildren, Remington Brads, Ryder Brads, and Zayden Hyler; special niece, Missy Wooldridge Smith (Junior); nephews, Kenny Hogan (Bonnie), Jimmy Hogan (Melanie), and Joey Hogan; and a host of other relatives and friends.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on March 4, 2023, at Green Hill Park from 3 p.m.- 5 p.m.
