James Russell Patterson, Jim as he was affectionately known, peacefully passed away on Saturday, January 22, 2022, at the age of 87. He was born on March 14, 1934 to the late George and Mae Vaughn Patterson in Bellefonte, Pennsylvania.  Jim had 9 brothers and sisters.  He served in the Korean War and was a Constable while living in Pennsylvania in the early 1970's where he was also a member of the Eagles Club and a Volunteer Fireman and Fire Police.  Jim never missed a chance to talk to others especially at the Veterans Hospital where he never met a stranger.

Jim is survived by his wife of 12 years, Claudine Ellis; son, George Patterson, step-son Troy, daughters, Julie Truhill, Jacquline Quetot, Viola Patterson, Elaine Bable; brother Kenny Patterson, sisters, Audrey and Mary along with 11 grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren.  He is preceded in death by both parents, brothers David, Donald and Robert and sisters, Ann, Maxine, Jeanie.

Jim will be interred at the Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery in Dublin, Virginia at a later date.
