James Eugene Burnett, of Roanoke, Virginia, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on New Year's Eve, December 31, 2021, at the age of 59.

He was born in Roanoke, Virginia in Roanoke Memorial Hospital on March 28, 1962, to James Thomas Burnett and Bettie Jean Blevins. In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by his wife, Sharon Burnett.

Those left to cherish his wonderful memories are his loving mother, Bettie Jean Blevins; sister, Diane Osborne; aunt, Irene Porter (Blaine); uncle, William Clemons; nieces, nephews, and cousins; special friends: Pat and Jay Dunford, Debbie, Mr. James, Artie, Shorty, Carl, and many other special friends; his beloved special fur babies, Max and Chandie, who will miss his terribly.

James retired after thirty-plus years of dedicated service at Advance Auto Part. He enjoyed fishing and hunting until his health declined. He was an incredible son who loved his mother with everything he had. His love for bluegrass and country music allowed him to see the simpler things in life. James loved the outdoors especially on a cool crisp evening where he was able to sit by a campfire and watch the fire.

Memorial Service honoring James's Life will be held in the Chapel of Valley Funeral Home on January 14, 2022, at 1 pm. Inurnment will be held at Old Dominion Memorial Gardens at a later date.
