Henry Edmond Clay, born on January 27, 1952, in Roanoke, VA, passed away on Sunday, March 3, 2024, in the same city where he was born.
Henry was known for his infectious sense of humor and his unwavering love for his family and friends. He served his country with honor in the Army during the Vietnam War from 1970 to 1972. Henry had a passion for watching sports and could often be found cheering on his favorite teams.
Henry was preceded in death by his parents, Perla and Eloise Clay, his grandparents Edward and Eula Journell, and Mr. and Mrs. Clay, his sisters: Elaine Tiller, Joyce Songer, and Linda Spencer, and his son, Timothy Clay.
Left to cherish his memory are his nieces and nephews: Tammy Furr, Kenneth Altis, Keith Tiller, Kevin Tiller, Nathan Tiller, Patrick Tiller, Denise Tiller, Gray Spencer, and Carmen Spencer; his longtime girlfriend, Becky Herron; his aunt, Edva Palmer, as well as a host of great-nieces and nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at Valley Funeral Home Chapel beginning at 5:30 p.m.
His memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. He will be fondly remembered for his laughter, jokes, and the joy he brought into the lives of others.
