Obituary

Helen B. Fulton, born October 18, 1940, in Bluefield, West Virginia, passed away on Sunday, April 10, 2022, at the age of 81.

She was well known in the Roanoke Valley as musician Helen Lucille, "Roanoke's own Brenda Lee". She loved to garden, play cards (rummy), and watch Westerns on TV. She was the daughter of Edna B. Hartman and Frenchman Brown, both deceased.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Algie N. Fulton; and her siblings, Archie, Freda, and Buddy.

She is survived by her sister, Donna Coleman Walker; her children, Rhonda McNeal, Jeana Azar, and Pamela Crowder, in addition to her grandchildren Natasha Chagas, Rachael McNeal, Reema Azar, Maya Azar, Anthony Azar, and Brittany Crowder. There are three great-grandchildren, Justice, Alex, and Chase.

There will be a Memorial Service on April 20, 2022, at Valley Funeral Home from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. to honor Helen's life, with interment to be on April 21, 2022, at 1 p.m. at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens in Roanoke.

She loved flowers, especially Lilly of the Valley, Roses, and Sunflowers. Her favorite colors were purple, blue, and pink.
