Obituary

Hazel Marie Foutz, also known as "Sissy", of Troutville, Virginia passed away on Friday, April 22, 2022, at the age of 64.

Hazel is preceded in death by her parents, Gaston R. and Helen M. Foutz; and her husband, Roger S. Tolley.

Hazel was loving, caring, funny, brave, strong, and good-hearted. She always kept a positive attitude in life, no matter the situation. She was her daughter's best friend and adored Amber's children. She always worked to keep them happy, enjoying being a grandma and focusing her attention on her grandchildren. She often shared stories about the family and never left without a hug and kiss. She loved to play with them and spread laughter. She loved music, dancing, and singing karaoke with her Amber. She lived life to the fullest and left her children and family with a lifetime of sweet memories. Hazel worked for Hooker Furniture until they closed the Roanoke plant in 2006. Hazel also worked in housekeeping and fast food. She was kind to everyone she met and even strangers. She loved the Lord and always prayed for everyone before herself. She delivered dedication with love, and it didn't matter the sacrifice when it came to her family. Hazel was a wonderful woman that will be missed by many, but forgotten by none.

Those left to cherish Hazel's memory are her daughter, Amber Tolley; her son, Roger "Todd" Tolley; her grandchildren, Sequoia Thomason, Serenity Patsell, Hali Pino, Abi Vilaisane, Brooklyn Patsell, Mariah Laprade, and Austin Tolley; her great-grandchildren, Hudson Lynch, and Maliah Pino; her brother, Thomas Foutz; her special cousins, Bonnie Winters and Amanda Workman Parker, Johnny Gibson; and special friends, Debra Ayers, Jeff Carter, Steve Shelor, Marilyn Thomas Smith, Felicia Alls, Kevin, and Rebecca Mabry, and Corey Mabry. A special thank you to Steven Patsell (Hazel's daughter Amber's significant other) for remaining by Amber's side in caring for both Hazel and Hazel's mother, who thought the world of Steven. And many other dear family members and friends.

A service to honor Hazel's life will be held at a later date. Family and friends will be notified once a time, date, and place are set.
