On Wednesday, December 27, 2023, Grace Edith Roberson passed away peacefully at the age of 90 after a long illness. Grace was born on October 3, 1933, in Abington, Montgomery, Pennsylvania to Benjamin Emberry Morgan, Sr., and Alice Elizabeth Saddington Morgan. She was one of 8 children.

Grace was, first and foremost, a dedicated mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as Grandmother and "GG". She was a fierce Mama Bear and one of the strongest women you'd ever meet! In her prime years, she was a gifted seamstress who loved sewing matching outfits for her children when they were little. Additionally, she was a great cook who passed down many family recipes.

She loved the Lord with all her heart and instilled that love in her children's hearts as well. She enjoyed singing the classic church hymns. Until her health condition made it impossible, she was active in the life of the church at Melrose Baptist Church. There was no doubt she looked forward to the day she would be reunited with the three children she had lost over the years.

Grace was preceded in death by her son, Jay Roberson, and her two daughters, June and Sandra. She is survived by her daughter, Bobi Arnold; granddaughter, Sydney Arnold; grandsons, Derek (Tayler), James, Joshua (Brooke), and Jacob; great-grandsons, Oliver, Sawyer, and Paxton; her sister, Alice Morgan Fraizer, and her brother, Carter Morgan, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Her family would like to thank the staff of Friendship Manor, Good Samaritan Hospice, Amedisys, Ombi Home Care Services, and Valley Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Roanoke. A special thank you to Tasha for the love and care given to Grace over these last few months.

A memorial service will be held at Valley Funeral Home Chapel in Roanoke (1609 Peters Creek Rd NW, Roanoke, VA 24017) on Friday, December 29, 2023, at 11 a.m. to be officiated by Pastor Troy Mays.
