Kirby, Ginger Scott, 70, of Salem, passed away Friday, October 28, 2022.  She was the daughter of the late Clifton R. and Leona M. Scott. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Julie Franklin.

She was a devoted nurse and caregiver at several area nursing facilities for many years. She spent her life taking care of others and had a special place in her heart for the elderly, especially veterans. Ginger was a vibrant, joyful, loving person who brought light to everyone she touched. She was the life of the party and everyone that knew her has a funny story to remember her by.

Ginger is survived by her loving husband of 40 years, William L. Kirby Jr.; her sons, Scott Bolen (Sonia), and Johnathan Kirby (Dyanna); daughter, Melissa Adams (Jeremy); grandchildren, Ainsley and Sawyer Bolen, and Miles and Ryan Adams.

A private funeral service was held at Sherwood Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Ginger's name to Disabled American Veterans Chapter 3, 2381 Roanoke Blvd, Salem, VA 24153.
