George Eldridge Yopp, Jr., born on June 27, 1941, in Salem, Virginia, bid farewell to this world on December 30, 2023, in Roanoke, Virginia.

A dedicated and skilled Construction Superintendent, George's life was a testament to hard work and passion.

George found solace in the simple joys of life. An avid outdoorsman, he reveled in the pursuits of hunting and fishing. His skilled hands found purpose in the art of woodworking, creating pieces that reflected his craftsmanship.

A proud veteran, George served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Fort Richardson in Alaska. His military service was a chapter that shaped his character and instilled values that defined his life.

Preceding him in death were his parents, George E. Yopp, Sr., and Evalene Yopp.

Those left to cherish the memory are his beloved wife, Ann Louise Painter Yopp; his son, Richard N. Yopp; stepchildren, Monica Peery, Tommy Sheppard, and Tony Sheppard; and his grandchildren, Cade Peery, Lily, Olivia, Lola, and Tommy Sheppard. George's memory will be fondly held in the hearts of his sisters, Dolly Gantham and Joyce Basham.
