George Russell King, Sr, 87, of Troutville, passed away on Friday, June 9, 2023. He is preceded in death by his wife, Barbara H. King, his parents, Sterling King and Hallie King, sister Rebecca Roberts and brothers Fred King and William King.

George is survived by his children, George (Sarah) King, Jr., Freddie (Bernice) King, Todd (Terri) King, and Tammie Woody; 8 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; sisters Judy (Garrett) Hudgins, Jenny (Tommy) Obenchain, Faye (David) Grant, Betty Jo (Rodger) Mabe and many nieces and nephews. A Celebration of the lives that George and Barbara had together will be held on June 24, 2023, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at his residence.
