GARY THOMAS VIOLA, SR., 72, passed away on Saturday, March 21, 2026, in Roanoke, Virginia. He was born in Morgantown, West Virginia, on March 17, 1954, a son of the late Rinaldo Viola and Theresa Viola Giles. He was an alumnus of West Virginia University and a licensed professional engineer in five states.

He is survived by his four children: Gary Thomas Viola, Jr. (Marlene) of Virginia; Kristin Bunn of Colorado; Aaron Viola (Virginia) of Virginia; and Josh Viola (Lexus) of Louisiana; as well as many grandchildren.

He is also survived by eight siblings: Mark Viola (Barbara) of Virginia; Edward Viola of Pennsylvania; Eileen Khan (Subhotosh) of Delaware; Louisa Bellotte (Charles) of Alaska; James Viola (Patricia) of Virginia; David Viola (Tammy) of Ohio; Elizabeth Lyons (William) of West Virginia; and many extended family members.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Rinaldo Joseph Viola, Jr. and Eugene Francis Viola, and his sister, Donna Marie Viola.
