Gail Ann Wood, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on April 7, 2024, in Roanoke, Virginia, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on September 11, 1943, in New Jersey to the late Albert and Gladys Laing.

Gail was a dedicated and retired condominium manager who found immense joy in the simple pleasures of life. She cherished spending time with her dogs, finding solace on her porch, and admiring the beauty of nature and her flowers. However, her greatest source of happiness came from her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whose visits brought her endless delight.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her sister Rose Bips, and her beloved Boxers, Tigger and Snoopy.

Gail will be deeply missed and forever remembered by her loving husband, Bill Wood, and her children: Jonathan Wood (Jennifer), Debi Baig, Donald Swift, and Christina Proffitt (Tony). She will also be fondly remembered by her grandchildren: Andrew Wood, Sophia Wood, Ashley Johnson, Felicia Querrey, Sarah Baig, and Kaylee Proffitt, as well as her great-grandchildren: Lexi Austin, Gavin Johnson, and Jaxon Harold, and her great-great-grandchild, Bailey Austin. She is also survived by her brothers-in-law: Richard Wood (Tammy), Larry Wood, and Gary Wood (Wanda).

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Gail's honor to the Mercer County, WV Animal Shelter (961 Shelter Rd. Princeton, WV 24740) and the Bluefield Union Mission (PO Box 4056 Bluefield, WV 24701).
