Frances
Baker
Sep 17, 1941 — Aug 18, 2022
Roanoke
Frances Baker left this earth at 80 years young on August 18, 2022. Born on September 17, 1941, she spent her life living it to the fullest. She was a bundle of spunk, sass, and a whole lot of love. There was nothing more important to her than her family. She spent her last several years living with her daughter, Lisa, and her son-in-law, Jim. From their Wednesday night RicheeFreeze dates and nightly ice cream bars, they shared so many fun memories together. She also looked forward to her visits with her great-grandchildren so she could spoil them rotten with money for their piggy banks and any type of candy you could think of.
While she spent her life having fun and loving on her family, she spent many moments loving on others. She is known to be one of the most generous women her family has ever met. From paying for a stranger's groceries because their card wasn't working, purchasing someone a hot coffee at McDonalds during the winter months, or ensuring children had new clothes, shoes, and jackets for the start of school, there wasn't much she wouldn't do for someone in need.
In addition to her zest for life and care for others, she is the true definition of resilient. She overcame heartbreaking tragedy and battled chronic health conditions. All the while, she never stopped fighting and showing her family how to have the strength to get through the toughest times.
She is survived by her beloved daughter, Lisa Wolfe and husband, Jim; her amazing grandchildren, Brian Wolfe and wife,Jess, Nikki Gordon and husband, Morgan, Stacy Dillard and husband, Austin, Lauren Bailey and husband, Brandon; her precious great-grandchildren, Madison, McKenna, and Colton Gordon, Maggie Bailey, Landon Dillard, and special grandpups; her stepchildren, Cindy Fulton and husband, William, Debra Craighead, Pam Welch, Ricky Baker and wife, Donna, Timmy Baker and Renee, Linda Garman and Barry, and very special neighbors, Fatima and Gayle.
She was preceded in death by her son, George A. Blankenship II and wife, Marsha, first husband, George Blankenship, second husband, Bill Baker, and parents, Reggie and Emma Bobbitt.
