Florence Virginia
Grubb
Jan 24, 1929 — Sep 27, 2023
Salem
Florence Virginia Grubb, affectionately known as "Jenny," entered into the presence of the Lord on September 27, 2023. She was born on January 24th, 1929, and shared 41 wonderful years in marriage with her beloved husband, Wallace Grubb. Jenny was not only a devoted wife but also a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, and a cherished friend to many.
Jenny had a zest for life, relishing in senior trips with her dear friends from Bethel Baptist Church. Her heart found joy both at the beach and around the family dinner table, where she never missed an opportunity to interject some clever one-liners, making us all laugh.
We hold cherished memories of Jenny, fondly referred to as "GiGi," and while we will dearly miss her, we find solace in the knowledge that we will be reunited with her once again.
Jenny is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Wallace; her daughter, Shirley Ferguson; her son William "Shorty" Grubb; and her granddaughter, Michelle McCarthy. She is also reunited in heaven with her brother, Junior McDaniel; and sisters – Jo Boher, Ida Harman, and Bonnie Poff.
Jenny's memory lives on through her two sons – Jerry Grubb, Sr. (Judy) and Michael Grubb (Vicki); her brother, Donald McDaniel (Connie); and her sister Julie Clark (Wayne). She leaves behind a legacy of love in her grandchildren - Niki Grubb (Mitch), Darra Michael (Donald), Adam Michael, Abigail Grubb (Andrew), Jamie McCarthy, Jerry Grubb, Jr. (Mary Lynn), Randy Grubb (Anna), her great-grandchildren – Courtney Pierce (Damian), Tyler McCarthy, Matthew Grubb, Conner Grubb (Beka), Jenny Grubb, and Andrew Grubb, and a sweet great-great-grandchild, Cooper Grubb.
A memorial service to celebrate Jenny's life will be held at Bethel Baptist Church on Saturday, October 7th, with visitation beginning at 1:00 p.m., followed by a service at 2:00 p.m. For those who wish to honor Jenny's memory, in lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Food Pantry at Bethel Baptist Church.
