Fern Left her earthly body on April 16, 2024, while in her home surrounded by family, to meet her Heavenly Father face to face.

Fern was a faithful Christian servant and a member of Rosalind Hills Baptist Church. She was known for her fantastic cooking and bread-making skills until Alzheimer's took that away from her. She worked hard in her life and was always ready to help anyone when they needed it. She loved her family and was most proud of her daughters and grandchildren. She was unapologetically herself and remained sassy until her final days.

She was preceded in death by her parents Herbert A. and Mary Sue Young, her 8 siblings and their spouses, two nephews, her husband Ronald Henry, and infant grandsons Tray & Trent Robertson.

She is survived by her daughters Michele Starkey (Kevin), and Tonya Robertson (Todd), Stepdaughters Ronla Reeves (Joe), and Lynette Hill (Jimmy), her grandchildren Tyler Robertson (Cheyenne), and Tori Luna Sheffield (Joe), Ashtyn, Tucker, and Tatum Hill, three great-grandchildren Juliet, Aspen and Bowie Robertson, and special girl Lucy, as well as many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Caring Companions and Desiree for loving on Mom and taking such excellent care of her these last few years. We simply could not have succeeded in keeping her in her home without their care and support. We would also like to thank Gentle Shepherd Hospice for being so attentive and caring to our family.

The family is being serviced by Valley Funeral Services. In an effort to respect Fern's wishes, there will be no formal visitation or services. In lieu of flowers, please feel free to send a contribution to your local food pantry.
