Esther Victoria "Vicky" Dishner, 68, passed away on Wednesday, May 28, 2025. Vicky was known for her vibrant spirit, her sense of humor, and the love she shared with her family, friends, and beloved dogs, Gizzy and Galaxy.

Born on October 5, 1956, Vicky dedicated many years of her life working at Carilion Clinic. She found joy in the simple things, such as laughing and joking with her family and friends, watching her favorite TV shows (especially NCIS), and admiring dolphins, her favorite animal.

Vicky was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Junelia Dishner; her brother, Fred Dishner; her sisters, Kay Williams, Evelyn Baumgart, and Brenda Dishner; her children, Clara and George Cox; and the love of her life, Jim Fox.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her son, James "Doodle" Cox (Tia); granddaughter, Braelon Morrison-Cox; grandson, Brice Morrison; brother, Clyde Dishner (Annette); sisters, Frankie Flowers and Sharon Dishner; and special nieces, Michelle Starnes, Junelia Patterson, and Sierra Johns. She is also remembered fondly by many other nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends whose lives she touched.

The family will receive friends for a visitation on Saturday, May 31, 2025, from 1 to 3 p.m. at Valley Funeral Home (1609 Peters Creek Road, Roanoke, VA).
