"Emily" Michael Allen Land Van Pelt, 31, of Dryden, Virginia, passed away on July 30, 2025. Born on September 29, 1993, in Lafayette, Indiana, Emily was known for her vibrant spirit, kind heart, and deep love for the people and things that brought her joy.

Emily had a passion for animals and found comfort and fun in the simple pleasures of life, including video games, fishing, tubing, swimming, and getting lost in a good book. Her warmth, humor, and unique personality left a lasting impression on everyone she met.

She was preceded in death by her nana Cheryl Gallien, papa bear Earl Gallien, and great-grandma Virginia "Annie" Dumber.

Emily is lovingly remembered by her mother Melinda Van Pelt and stepfather Ronald Jordan of Clarks Hill, IN, her father Jason Land of Buck Creek IN, brother Damian Van Pelt of Lafayette, IN, sisters Jamine Van Pelt Serena Van Pelt and Sierra Calderon all of Clarks Hill, IN, grandfather Allen Van Pelt of Clarks Hill, IN, aunt Allison Van Pelt (Adam Jackson) of Clarks Hill, IN, uncles Allen Van Pelt Jr. and John Van Pelt of Clarks Hill, IN as well as Richard Land and Jeffery Land.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, August 17, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at the Clarks Hill Community Building (9515 White St., Clarks Hill, IN 47930).
