Rev. Edna Pierson Dowe departed this life on Tuesday, November 29, 2022, at the age of 73.  She was born on May 9, 1949, to parents, James Herman and Margaret Pierson, and was raised in Shawsville, Virginia. She was a dedicated daughter, a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

She was licensed to preach the Gospel in January of 2007 by The Rev. Clay L. Dawson. She was a dedicated Minister of the Gospel of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at First Baptist Church of Elliston Virginia. She attended and graduated from Shawsville High School. She married her high school sweetheart Rev. Howard Wayne Dowe on July 29, 1967. They are the proud parents of three sons.

She is preceded in death by her parents, James Herman and Margaret Pierson; her son Christopher Scott Dowe; her brothers, Nathaniel, William, Leroy, James, and Robert Pierson; her sisters, Anna Bell Harris, and Cora Arline Bell Snow.

Rev. Edna is survived by her high school sweetheart and loving husband of 55 years, Rev. Howard Wayne Dowe; her sons, Timothy Wayne (Angie), and Raymond Anthony Dowe (Dana); her four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; her brother, Samuel Pierson (Andrea), a host of nieces and nephews; and her church family at First Baptist Church Elliston.

Rev. Edna will always be remembered for her beautiful smile, loving nature, and her encouraging words of faith.

The Family will be receiving friends from 3:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, December 3, 2022, at First Baptist Church of Elliston. The Funeral Service will begin at 4 p.m. with Pastor Paul Lee Andrews Sr. Officiating and Rev. Clay L. Dawson as Eulogist.
