Douglas McArthur Terry passed away peacefully entering into eternal rest on Saturday, January 15, 2022, at the age of 78.

Douglas is preceded in death by his parents, John Mack and Evie Gertrude Gill Terry; his brother, Kenny Terry; and his brother-in-law, Curtis Welcher.

Douglas was a big-hearted man that loved his family with all of his heart. He retired after working for Roanoke City for 21 years. He loved his westerns and always made time to watch an episode. He loved helping people and would consider it a passion of his. He was a very generous man and would give someone the shirt off his back if they needed it. HE MADE LIFE SEEM BETTER!

Those left to cherish Douglas' memory are his loving and devoted wife, Curtis Saunders-Terry; his daughters, Donna Marie Nance, Cynthia Elizabeth Terry, and La'Treesa Ayton (Kirk); his grandchildren, LaTasha Lewis-Guilliam Charronn, Danielle Reed, Jason "J.J." Lewis, James Anthony Hurt, Joy "Jody" Ayton, and his shadow, Christina Taylor "Turtle Dubbie"; seven great-grandchildren; and his siblings, Lena Welcher and Joe Terry (Betty); and a host of nieces, nephews, close friends, and extended family at Roanoke City. Douglas was loved dearly and will be missed by all that knew him.
