Donald Lee King (68), of Lafayette, died on Monday, February 27, 2023. He was known as Donnie, Don, Uncle Don, son, brother, Marine, and friend. He was a man of few words and even fewer demands, and whether human or a furry feline companion, to be on the receiving end of his love was a gift. To know him was to be welcomed into a place of love. He is preceded in death by his mother and father, Lucy and Haynes G. King, and brother, Haynes G. King Jr.  Left to cherish and celebrate his memory are his sisters: Brenda K. Pearman (James), Glenda K. Rumburg (Reggie), Linda K. Harr (Mike). Nieces and nephews: Jennifer Rumburg, Rebecca Rumburg, Melissa R. Ellis (Daniel), Michael S. Harr Jr., and Monica H. Stone. Great niece: Kaitlin M. Stone. Great nephew: Charles G.G. Rumburg (Little C) and countless furry friends.

Family and friends are invited to join together on Saturday, April 29, 2023, from 12 pm - 2 pm, to celebrate his life. We will be gathering at the Barbara Burrows Retreat Center at Camp Alta Mons (2842 Crockett Springs Rd., Shawsville, VA 24162). This informal gathering is a time to share memories with one another and remember a man who meant a great deal to each of us. Light refreshments will be served.
