Dickie Louis Eakin , age 73, of New Castle, Virginia, went home to be with the Lord on June 9, 2022, at Lewis Gale Medical Center. He was born on March 8, 1949, in Roanoke, VA, to the late Gordan and Miriam Calweal Eakin.

Dickie served in the United States Navy and was active in the Vietnam War. He was awarded the National Defense Service Metal, Vietnam Service Metal, and the Good Conduct Medal. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Dickie was an avid hunter and fisherman until his decline in health.

Dickie leaves to cherish his memory, at host of cousins and friends.
