Arvide "Dewayne" Sarks, Jr. "Dewop", 52, of Roanoke, Virginia, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 22, 2022.

Dewayne is predeceased by his parents, Arvide Dewayne Sarks, Sr., and Brenda Lee Profitt Love; his brother, James Ray Sarks "Jay"; and his mother-in-law, Bonnie Underwood.

Dewayne is the former owner of Sarkswood Siding and Windows. He was a charismatic and funny man who loved telling jokes and playfully picking on his friends. He could fix and do just about anything he put his mind to. If he could have, he would have loved to build the world. He often found himself the center of attention, always having the craziest but funniest thing to say at the appropriate time. "Sometimes I do this."  Dewayne would help anyone at any time they needed, dropping whatever he was doing to lend a helping hand. One of his favorite past times was watching the UFC and had once visited Las Vegas to attend a live show. He was a strict, but amazing father and lover to his family and will be missed dearly by all that knew him.

Those left to cherish Dewayne's memory is his favorite person on earth, his loving wife of 25 years Shari Sarks; also surviving are his children, Kourtne Peck (Michael), Cameron Dewayne Sarks (Troy), Austin Michael Sarks, and Haley Alexandra Sarks; his grandchildren, Israel, Jaylen, Ariana, Ezekiel, Navaeh, and Grayson; his brother-in-law, Tony Underwood; his sisters, Ganella Bolden (Tony), and Donna Ashe (Michael); and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and friends.

On Wednesday, January 26, 2022, at 2 p.m. a service to celebrate Dewayne's life will be held at Valley Funeral Home Chapel; with the family receiving friends one hour prior. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes donations be made to Valley Funeral Home.
