Debra Leigh Doss LaTempa, 67, of Roanoke, VA, passed away peacefully on December 16, 2024. Born on December 24, 1956, in Roanoke, VA, Debra was a devoted homemaker, mother, granny, and great granny who cherished her family above all else.

Debra found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved playing bingo, but her greatest delight was rocking her babies while singing them sweet songs. She was a pillar of her neighborhood, often sitting on her front porch with her favorite neighbor, Barbara, keeping a watchful eye as part of the "neighborhood watch." The holidays were especially dear to her heart, as she loved cooking, making Christmas candy, and indulging in Black Friday shopping.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde W. and Viola L. Doss; her brother, David A. Doss; her niece, Shannon M. Coleman; her father-in-law, Peter LaTempa; her mother-in-law, Dorothy Crimmins; and many beloved cousins.

Debra leaves behind a loving family to cherish her memory, including her husband, John P. LaTempa, Sr.; her daughter, Natasha LaTempa; her sons, John LaTempa, Jr. (Roberta), Jason LaTempa (Melissa), and Joseph LaTempa; her grandchildren, Donte (Jenny), Sentella, Briana, Jadon, Kingston, Aliyah, and Kainan; her great-grandchild, Julian; her brothers, Curtis (Melinda), Richard (Robin), and Jeffrey; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service to celebrate Debra's life will be held on January 4, 2025, at 10 a.m. at Church Alive International (905 Peters Creek Rd, Roanoke, VA 24017) with Pastor Vannie Harrell officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research in Debra's honor.
