Debi Lynn Lambert-Elswick, born on October 17, 1956, who was the daughter of the late Clyde Beverly and Della Mae Lambert, departed this earthly life and gained her angel wings on November 26, 2022, at the age of 66. Debi fought a tough battle with COPD.

Debi's life would seem too short for her family, but those of us who were blessed to be touched by her, understand that her existence and the imprint she left on our hearts exceed the quantity of time she was with us. Debi was a loving wife, mother, Mimi, and caretaker. For most of her working years, she spent her time caring for others at Buchanan General Hospital or private nursing caring for a young child who couldn't care for himself. She loved her family and pets more than anything. She also enjoyed shopping, decorating her home for every occasion, and had the gift of gab.

Debi is survived by her loving husband, Bill Elswick, of Grundy, VA, and her three children and five grandchildren: her firstborn, Kristy Rutherford, and spouse, Tim Rutherford along with their two children: Sawyer and Chloe Rutherford of Hendersonville, TN. Her middle son, Matthew (Matt) Elswick, and spouse, Paige Elswick along with their three children: Chloe, Lucas, and Claire Elswick of Mechanicsville, VA. And her youngest son, Dakota Elswick who has followed in her footsteps and become a nurse in Christiansburg, VA.

A Celebration of Life will be held on January 14th, 2023, at noon at Southern Gap: 1124 Chipping Sparrow Road, Grundy, VA. Lunch will be provided.
