David Thurlow Wainwright, 64, formerly of Schenectady, NY went to his heavenly home on June 1st, 2022, with his family by his side.

Born June 30, 1957, in Niskayuna, NY to his parents, John and Beverly (Thrackrah) Wainwright, who were preceded by him. Also preceding him were his beloved daughter, Karen (Wainwright) Segretto; his grandmother, Ethel (Borst) Thackrah; his in-laws, Robert and Gene Carpenter, brothers-in-law, Jeffery and Edwin Carpenter, and brother, John H. (Jack), Jr.

David worked for different gas stations while growing up. Also, worked at Jiffy Lube, Schenectady Gazette, Walmart in the Schenectady area, and Interknitting in Cobleskill. He also owned a lawn mowing business with his son.

He spent his pastime fishing and going with his son to Boy Scout camping trips, canoeing and going to Lebanon Valley Speedway for drag racing, watching NASCAR and NHRA on TV, and rebuilding car engines on his cars like his '87 Monte Carlo, making his own drag car, and going to Pine Grove Chrisitan Camp in Saratoga with his family.

Surviving is his wife, Denise (Carpenter) Wainwright of Salem, VA; daughters, Terri (Wainwright) Vigo (Micheal) of Voorhesville NY, Colleen Borst of Salem, Va; son, David Jr, of Ridgeway, VA; his brother, Bruce P. Wainwright of Schenectady, NY; his sisters-in-law, Michelle Hafele of Maryland, NY, Joanne Wainwright of Watervliet, NY, and Lori Mason of Roanoke VA; several nieces and nephews; seven grandchildren, Ethan Stevens, Alyssa and Micheala Vigo all of Voorhesville, NY, and Laura, Margeri, and Kymberlee Borst, all of Salem,VA and Karsten Segretto of North Carolina. And his best forever friend/brother, Bruce MacDonald of Lake Stevens, WA.

There will be no visitation and a Memorial Service TBD for July of 2022 in NY.
