David Michael Conrad, 77, of Roanoke, passed away on Wednesday, October 5, 2022, after a short illness.

He was preceded in death by his father, Delmas Conrad, and his mother, Lottie Cox Conrad of Radford, Virginia.

David is survived by his loving wife, Ramona L. Young; his stepdaughter, Kim Leonard, and 4 grandchildren, Grace, William, Elizabeth, and Sarah Leonard, all of Troutville; brothers, William Gene Conrad and his wife Carolyn of Springhill, FL, Larry Dean Conrad and his wife Lucy of Bassett, VA; and his sister, Mary Lynn Camper of Daleville, VA.

David served in the Air Force during the beginning of the Vietnam conflict. Afterward, he worked in the telecommunication and computer business. Later in his life, he became a self-employed contractor which turned out to be his passion. He loved woodworking and always took pleasure in giving his creations to family and friends.

A special thank you goes out to our loving neighbors and friends that supported us during this time of loss, by generously watching after us and our home. We are truly blessed to have you all.

Another special thank you to Lucy and Mary Lynn for holding me up each day. I will forever be grateful.
