Obituary

David "Luke" Bush, 47, of Roanoke, Virginia, passed away on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, in Roanoke. Born on November 23, 1977, Luke lived a life full of energy, creativity, and heart. He used his many talents across various jobs over the years, but he was especially proud of the achievements and improvements he made in the meat department at Kroger.

Luke loved life and found joy in the simple pleasures—fishing, gardening, building, and fixing things. He took great pride in his pool and cherished the fun times shared there with friends and family. Always eager to lend a helping hand, Luke's generous spirit left a lasting impression on all who knew him. One of his greatest personal accomplishments was reaching 674 days of sobriety, a milestone he embraced with pride and strength.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Ronald Ham; his grandparents, Warren and Nancy Andrews; his grandfather, John Beck; his beloved dog, Hambone; and his good friend, Raymond Matthews.

Those left to cherish his memory include his beloved wife, Colleen Bush; his father, David Bush (Lola); his mother, Terri Beck (Richard); his son, Tyler Bush; stepsons, Gabriel Craig and David Bamber (Savana); sister, Kristi George (Derrick); brothers, Matthew Bush, John Bush (Michaela), Brandon Beck (Stephanie), and Nicholas Beck; brothers-in-law, Mike Bamber (Maggie) and Matthew Bostian; sisters-in-law, McKinsey Leone (Chris), Chelsea Bamber, and Allie Vartanian; father-in-law, Michael Bamber (Norma); mother-in-law, Patricia St. Clair (Bill); grandmothers, Virginia Ham and Barbara Beck; lifelong friends, Jonathan Boothe, Adam Johnson, C.J. Dowell, and Lynn Craig; and numerous extended family members and friends.
