Claudine Young Childress, 90, of Roanoke, Virginia went to be with her Lord on Saturday, November 20, 2021.

Claudine is preceded in death by her parents, Andrew Herbert and Cora Belle Ingram Young; step-mother, Mary Sue Shumate; her husband, Heath J. Childress Jr.; her siblings, Robert Lynwood Young (Marie), Harry W. Young (Kathleen), Hazel L. Young, Louise Hurt (Calvin), Nancy M. Young, Ruby Jenkins (Paul), Herbert Kenneth "Kenny" Young (Judy), and her brother-in-law Ron Henry; and her nephews, Gary W. Young, and Robert (Bobby) L. Young Jr.

Claudine was a graduate of Andrew Lewis High School and also graduated from Cornett Business School. She retired after 30 years of dedicated service at the Bank of Virginia, now known as the First Citizens Bank. Claudine was also a long-time member of Second Presbyterian Church in Roanoke, Virginia, and will be dearly missed by all that have known and loved her.

Those left to cherish her wonderful memory are her sister, Fern Y. Henry; her nieces and nephews, Jackie Y. Proffitt, Neil Young, Barbara Y. Allen (John), Jamie Swearigan, Steve Jenkins, Michelle Starkey, Janet Jenkins, Cam Young (LeAnn), and Tonya Robertson (Todd); her very loving, and special friend Teresa Pruitt; and many cousins, great-nieces and nephews, and friends.
