Cheryl Lee Walker, 60, of Roanoke, VA went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 2, 2024. She was born on January 24, 1964, to Chester Lee & Cora Mae Boone, Sr. in Hampton, VA. She graduated from Menchville High School in Newport News, VA in 1981, after which she matriculated to Virginia Tech to pursue a Bachelor's degree. On September 24, 1983, she married Reginald Allen Walker and put her education aside to support him as he completed his Bachelor's and Master's degrees. After having received the HRIM Undergraduate Student of the Year and American Hotel Foundation Merit Awards in 1992, Cheryl graduated from Virginia Tech that year with a Bachelor of Science degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management. From her union with Reginald, she birthed a wonderful daughter, Francesca Renee Walker, and chose to postpone her career pursuits in order to raise and homeschool her.

From an early age, Cheryl showed herself to be an astute businesswoman. Her first business venture consisted of candy sales while still in high school (including having an employee)!  After graduating from VT, Cheryl also created and operated printing, custom sportswear, and catering businesses. Cheryl strove for excellence in everything she did, and her customers and clients were the beneficiaries of her labors! Cheryl was also given to hospitality, and loved to decorate (and redecorate) her home.

Cheryl was preceded in death by her father, her mother, and her brother, Chester L. Boone, Jr. Left to mourn her passing and cherish her legacy are her loving husband of 40 years, Reginald; her beloved daughter, Francesca; her brother, Christopher Lee Boone; step-father, Garland Brown; step-brother, Chung P. Boone; lifelong friend, T. Foran; and a multitude of other relatives, numerous Christian brothers & sisters, and special friends.
