Charles Shannon Meador, affectionately known as Charlie, age 58, of Roanoke, Virginia, departed this life on June 22, 2025. He was born November 6, 1966, to the late Charlie Clyde Meador and Marinda Garnand Bates, who survives.

In addition to his father, Charlie was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Ethel and Buck Meador, and maternal grandparents, Mazie Garnand and Evan Reed.

Charlie was employed with ITT Night in 2008 and worked as a night vision specialist. He loved his family and enjoyed spending quality time with them. In his free time, he loved to fish, hunt, and enjoyed watching a good movie. Charlie accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior at an early age. He was a dedicated member of the Free Will Baptist Church, where he served as a Sunday School teacher.

Those left to cherish his memory are his mother, Marinda Garnand Bates, his loving and devoted wife, Becky Meador; two children, Amanda (Adrian) Ortiz and Shannon (Summer) Meador; two brothers, David (Robyn) Meador and Tim (Diane) Meador; sister, Vickie (David) Greer and five grandchildren, Jordan, Lilana, Brantle, Remmy, and Austin.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2025, at 2 p.m. at Free Will Baptist Church. The visitation will be held from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. before the service.
