In Loving Memory of Charles Bremner, Jr.

Charles Bremner, Jr., 96, passed away peacefully on September 12, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of devotion, craftsmanship, and quiet joy. To all who knew him, Charles was a man of steady hands, a generous heart, and a deep appreciation for the simple beauty of the world around him.

He was preceded in death by his parents and by his siblings—John, Stewart, Robert, Betty, and Jean. 

Charles proudly served in the United States Army, carrying that honor throughout his life. He later retired from General Electric and Carters Cabinets in Roanoke, Virginia, where his skill and work ethic were admired by many.

A masterful carpenter, Charles poured countless hours into creating pieces for those he loved. Among his treasured works was a cradle that gently held two of his great‑grandchildren in their earliest days. He was also an avid New York Yankees and Green Bay Packers fan, cheering faithfully season after season.

Charles found his greatest peace in the mountains. He loved taking leisurely drives along the Blue Ridge Parkway, often traveling to the Peaks of Otter or the Mill Mountain Star. He frequently said the mountains were the most beautiful place he knew, and they truly were his sanctuary. Watching the leaves turn in the fall and spotting deer along the ridges brought him quiet happiness.

Charles is survived by his loving wife of forty years, Bonnie Bremner; his children, Charles Bremner III, Connie Stevens, and Trayce Bremner; Frank and his wife, Susan Hartman; and Laura Potter and her husband, Steve. He leaves behind his grandchildren—Clent Stevens and his wife, Jessica; April Johnston and her husband, Travis; Mark Stevens; Casey Allen and her husband, John; and Daniel Bremner and his wife, Kallie. His great‑grandchildren, Arlee, Emerson, Judson, Harper, Noah, Bentley, and Conor, were among his greatest joys. He is also survived by his dear friend, Pautice Saul, and a loving circle of nieces and nephews.

To say Charles was deeply loved is an understatement. His presence enriched countless lives, and his memory will continue to do so.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Pheasant Ridge Rehab and Care Centers for the exceptional kindness and care shown to their beloved Charlie.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 1pm on October 2, 2026, at Old Dominion Memorial Garden 7271 Cloverdale Rd. Roanoke, Virginia 24019.
