Cathy Anita Perkins (Lavender), 59, of Roanoke, Virginia, passed away on August 12, 2021. Cathy was born on November 6, 1961, in Roanoke, Virginia, the daughter of Raymond and Juanita Lavender.

She graduated from Patrick Henry High School, class of 1980. Following graduation, she went on to Virginia Western Community College. She then went on to marry her high school sweetheart, Wayne Perkins. They celebrated 34 years of marriage in January.

She started her career at the post office and then dedicated her time to her son, Brandon Perkins, and his sports. She enjoyed playing sports, especially softball, and also enjoyed fishing, gardening, and spending time with her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Darlene Rice.

Cathy is survived by her husband, Wayne; son, Brandon; grandchildren, Kendell and Landyn; brothers, Jerry Sullivan (Barbara) and Dennis Lavender (Teresa); sisters, Carol Johnson (Richard), Deborah Blankenship, and Charlene Lavender; and many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, August 27, 2021, from 2-4 p.m. at Valley Funeral Home.
