Carolyn Smith Miller, of Roanoke, departed this Earth on Wednesday, December 21, 2022, at the age of 75.

Carolyn was born in Richlands, Virginia, on January 12, 1947, to the late Caleb and Laura Ethel Smith.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Larry Smith; her son, Ralph Miller, Jr.; her grandson, Cody Miller; and her special friend and former husband, Ralph Miller, Sr.

Carolyn was a caregiver throughout her career. She worked at Friendship Manor and Lakeview caring for residents like she wanted to be cared for. Some of her favorite hobbies include serving at her church, crocheting, quilting, watching old game shows, and spending time with her family whom she loved dearly. She enjoyed organizing and attending the annual family reunion. Carolyn was a kind and giving woman who would put the needs of others before her own.

Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Thomas Dickens and Dennis Miller; her daughters-in-law, Amanda Miller and Regina Miller; her grandchildren, A.J., Mackaylee, Caleb, Tabitha (Ryan), Rachel, Jodi, and Colby; her brother, Clayton Smith (Debbie); and many special friends.

A Celebration of Carolyn's Life will be held on Saturday, December 31, 2022, at the United Christian Inner City Ministry beginning at 1 p.m. with Pastor Mike English officiating.
