Carole Elizabeth Raftery went home to be with the Lord on March 6, 2021. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Alice Raftery; and her brother, Edward Raftery, Jr.

She is survived by those who cherish her memory, including children, Bryan E. Fichtner and wife, Jessica, and Melissa Childress and husband, Christopher; and grandchildren, Addison, Wyatt, Ethan and Hayden.

The quintessential "Mary Poppins" figure, Carole was an exceptional woman who loved children. She was a nanny for over twenty years and could turn any "bad situation" around into something good. She had food fights on Thanksgiving Dinner and truly loved kids. Overall she was an incredible mother and went to great lengths for the well-being of her own children. She always had a listening ear and remained calm, cool, and collected no matter what she heard. Her beautiful soul was redeemed with her strong love for the Lord and she will rest in His peace. She will be missed by all those who loved her.
