Carol Sue Gonzalez, of Vinton, passed away on Monday, August 1, 2022, at the age of 58. Carol was born on December 31, 1963, in Washington D.C. to the late Robert Dewey and Cleo Sue Drew Smith.

Carol is preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Kay Smith, and Judy Donaldson; and her brother, Larry Smith.

Carol was united in Holy Matrimony to Francisco Gonzalez-Antonio, and was a loving and devoted wife. Carol loved spending time with her husband, children, and grandchildren. Family was important to her, and she always made sure everyone had everything they needed before herself.

Carol had a special love for water. Some of her favorite activities were going to the beach and boating on Smith Mountain Lake. She also liked to fish and travel. Any city she would go to, she would have to stop at every monument and museum.

Those left to cherish Carol's memory are her husband, Francisco Gonzalez; her son, James Cook; her daughter, Danielle Mommerency; her grandson, Jason Mommerency; her granddaughter, Addison "Woo Woo" Mommerency; and her brother, Robert "Jacko" Smith.

A Funeral Service to honor Carol's life will be held at the Iglesia De Dios Pentecostal in Roanoke, Virginia on Friday, August 5, 2022, beginning at 5 p.m.
