Carl Wayne Allie , born on February 6, 1946, peacefully departed this life on Wednesday, January 3, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love, music, and kindness.
Carl's life was marked by service and dedication. He proudly served in the United States National Guard and contributed to the safety of his community as a member of the Roanoke City Fire Department. For over 30 years, Carl pursued a successful career as a painting contractor. His skill was passed on to his son, Kevin; who continues the family business.
A maestro of melodies, Carl found profound joy in music. Whether strumming the guitar or playing the piano, he shared countless harmonious moments with family and friends. His laughter and music resonated in the hearts of those who knew him, as he entertained and uplifted with his humor and talent.
Carl is preceded in death by his parents, William Robert Allie and Maude Bryant Allie, as well as siblings and other family members: James Allie (Dorothy), Vernon Allie (Elsie), William Clyde Allie (Norma), Viola Allie, Ira Allie (Gladys), Irene Barton (Charlie), Louise Hodges (Don), Herman Allie (Gennie), and his infant brother, Norman Allie. In addition, Carl was preceded in death by his father-in-law, David Hill, Sr., mother-in-law, Norma Hill Frye; sister-in-law, Barbara Hill; his nephews, Eddie Allie and Clinton Allie; and nieces, Linda Allie Webb, Brenda Jones Allie, and Ramona Gibson.
Those left to cherish his wonderful memory include his devoted wife of 58 years, Peggy Hill Allie; their son, Kevin Wayne Allie; long-time special family friend, Bev Nixon; and surviving brother, Ron Allie (Darlene). Carl is also remembered by brothers-in-law David Hill, Jr. (Vickie), Jim Hill (Debbie), and a host of nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Carl's life will take place on Tuesday, February 6, 2024, at Harvest Ministries (909 Blue Ridge Blvd. Roanoke, Virginia 24012) from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Join us in honoring Carl with shared memories, music, and a buffet, as we celebrate the life of a beloved husband, father, friend, and mentor. The service will be officiated by Pete Trout and Milton Atkins.
