Buford Louis Evans Jr.  62, of Botetourt, Virginia went home to the Lord on Wednesday, December 15, 2021, surrounded by family. Buford was born September 11, 1959, to the late Buford and Jean Evans. Buford was a loving father who loved to hunt, fish, and was known for his joking nature. He is fondly remembered by those closest to him for his abilities as a great listener displaying empathy and compassion. He had a knack for making those around him smile and forget about their worries and troubles. Even in Buford's last days, he still mustered the strength to crack a joke, laugh, spare a wink at loved ones who surrounded him.

Those left to cherish his memory are his three children, Misty Evans, Brandon Evans (Halee Simmons), and Chadd Evans (Rebecca Potter). Buford also leaves a legacy with four grandsons, Cody Hatter, Christian Hatter, Hunter Evans, and Holden Evans. Buford is survived by his eight siblings whom he cared for deeply and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service for family and friends will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Saturday, January 8, 2022, at Mount Union Cemetery, officiated by Reverend Troy Mays.
