Apr 7, 1932 — Jun 18, 2023
Roanoke
Bobby L. Poff, a devoted family man and esteemed member of the community, passed away on June 18, 2023, at the age of 81. Bobby was born on April 7, 1932, and his presence brought light and laughter to the lives of all who knew him.
Bobby spent 37 years of his career at G.E., where he dedicated his skills and expertise to his work. He also proudly served his country as a member of the Air Force. Bobby had a passion for sports and enjoyed engaging in activities such as bowling, golf, and fishing. He made significant contributions to the community through his involvement with the Roanoke Bowling Association, serving diligently for many years. His commitment to the sport earned him the honor of being a life member of the association and a member of the association's Hall of Fame.
However, above all else, Bobby cherished his family. His love and dedication were unwavering, and he embraced his role as a loving husband, father, and grandfather with joy and enthusiasm. Bobby leaves behind his beloved spouse, Joyce A. Poff, who stood by his side through life's joys and challenges. He will be dearly missed by his daughter, Sherry Ramirez, and his stepsons, Vernon Hitchcock, Paul Hitchcock, and Todd Hitchcock. Bobby's legacy continues through the lives of his eight grandchildren and many great-grandchildren, who will carry his memory in their hearts forever.
Bobby was preceded in death by his daughter, Vickie L. Poff, and his son, Bobby L. Poff, Jr. Although their absence leaves a void in the lives of those who loved him, Bobby's spirit and love will endure in the cherished memories they hold dear.
In honor of Bobby's memory, the family kindly requests contributions to be made to a heart disease organization. Bobby understood the importance of supporting research and initiatives aimed at combating heart disease, and he would be grateful for any contributions made in his name.
Bobby's warm smile, infectious laughter, and unwavering love will forever remain in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him. He leaves behind a legacy of love, dedication, and a zest for life that will continue to inspire and uplift those who carry his memory. While he will be deeply missed, his impact on the lives he touched will never be forgotten.
