Billie Jo Mullins, affectionately known as B.J., passed away peacefully on August 20, 2026, at Lewis Gale Medical Center in Salem, Virginia. Born on January 29, 1974, in Beckley, West Virginia, she was the beloved daughter of the late Eugene Gentry and Delbert McMillion, who survives her.

In addition to her mother, Eugene Gentry, B.J. was preceded in death by her sisters, Carol Anderson (and her husband); Claudette Hardee (and her husband, Mikey); Anna Burgess; Ronnie; and her brother, Hugh Gentry.

B.J. lived her life with a heart full of compassion and a deep desire to serve others. She loved attending church and found joy in helping anyone in need. Her dream was to one day own and manage a local homeless shelter — a reflection of her generous spirit and unwavering empathy.

For many years, B.J. worked as a dedicated CNA, caring for the elderly and offering comfort to people from all walks of life. Her kindness was steady, her patience abundant, and her presence a blessing to those she served.

She enjoyed journaling and writing poetry, using her words to uplift and inspire. Through her creativity, she encouraged her husband to pursue his own love of writing and music, becoming his greatest supporter.

Those left to cherish her memory include her loving husband, Frederick "Eric" Mullins; her father, Delbert McMillion; her sister, Cindy Walters (Jace); and her nephew, Gary Jessup. She is also remembered with love by a host of great‑nieces and great‑nephews, extended family, and dear friends including Natalie Jessup, Kylie Jessup, Jenny Weese Roger, Jessy Riley, Tony Riley, Matthew Jessup, Zoey, Ava Riley, Mike Burgess, Melissa Rose, Mark Rose, Cole Rose, Danny Rose, and William Rose.

B.J. will be remembered for her golden heart, her gentle strength, and the love she poured into her family, her community, and everyone fortunate enough to know her.
