Benjamin Jerry Cook, Sr., affectionately known as "Ben," passed away on Sunday, April 19, 2026, in Jonesborough, Tennessee. He was born on January 17, 1945, in Lebanon, Virginia.

Ben worked for Damon Co. for over 40 years and was known for his strong work ethic and dedication. In his free time, he enjoyed gardening and going to church, finding peace and joy in both.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John Turner Cook and Margaret Harrison Cook; his wife, Margaret Guard Cook; his son, David Leon Cook; and his four brothers, Bob, Lester, Leonard, and John Cook.

Those left to cherish his memory include his two sons, Benny Cook and Ronnie Cook; his grandchildren, Kristie Staat, Christopher Cook, Kaitlyn Jarrell, Abbygail Cook, and Noah Cook; his seven great-grandchildren; his three great-great-grandchildren; his brother, Frank Cook; and his sisters, Shirley Johnson and Linda Spiva.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, May 1, 2026, at 2 p.m. at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, with Percy Powell officiating.
