Basil Gregory Walters peacefully passed away at home on March 13, 2021.

He was preceded in death by parents, Buster R. and Helen Mozelle Hurst Walters, and brothers, Steve and Kenny Walters.

He is survived by his son, Jacob Walters, grandchild, Adriel Walters; siblings, Rodger Walters and his special friend, Sondra, and Lizabeth Ober and husband, Bill and  Cheryl Walters; nieces and nephews, Tracy, Eddie, Buster, Greg, Renee and Colby; special friends, Jeff Lancaster, Howie Conner, Doug Hodges, and David Conner; and many other family members and friends who will miss him.

Basil loved to hunt and fish, especially around Smith Mountain Lake. He loved music and picked the banjo left-handed. He played all sorts of music with his son and loved Southern Rock. His favorite bands were Lynrd Skynrd and the Eagles. He loved his son and grandchildren with all his heart. He was thoughtful towards his brothers and sister, which he loved dearly. He was very good hearted man that will be missed tremendously.

A Celebration of Basil's life will be held on Friday, May 7, 2020 at 7:00 p.m. with James Hale, officiating Family will receive friends from 6 until time of service at Valley Funeral Home. Please share a memory of Basil in the online guestbook below.
