Barry D. McDaniel Sr., 61, of Roanoke, VA, passed away, leaving behind a lifetime of memories that will forever be cherished by those who loved him.

Barry was a proud and devoted father to Heather, Barry McDaniel Jr. (Samantha), and Brandi Smith (Dakota). His children were his greatest accomplishments, and there was nothing he loved more than being their dad. That love only grew deeper when he became "Papaw" to his six grandchildren, Nathan, Noah, Nichole, Trinity, Charlee, and Joelle, who brought endless joy, laughter, and meaning to his life.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary and Roy McDaniel, and his sister, Kitty, who he carried in his heart always.

Barry found peace and happiness in the outdoors. Whether he was sitting by the water with a fishing pole or gathered around a campsite, those were the moments that made him feel most at home. He was also a lifelong Washington Redskins fan, standing by his team through every win and loss with unwavering loyalty.

Above all, Barry had a deep love for Jesus, which guided his life and gave him strength, comfort, and peace. His faith was an important part of who he was and a legacy he left behind for his family.

Barry will be remembered for his love of family, his quiet strength, and the way he treasured the simple moments in life. The memories he created, filled with laughter, stories, and love, will live on in the hearts of his children and grandchildren forever.
