Barbara Jean Sprouse Noell Hodge, 80 years old, met her Lord and Savior on February 14, 2024. She was born July 5, 1943, to Ronald Thomas Sprouse Sr and Mary Louise Willis Sprouse.

Barbara loved her family and was a stay-at-home mom and wife raising her kids and taking care of the home. Barbara enjoyed taking care of her house plants especially the Crown of Thorns which was one of her favorites. Barbara enjoyed traveling to different places to visit antique shops and restaurants while listening to music loudly, especially Travis Tritt. Barbara was an avid collector of many things and enjoyed displaying them in her home for everyone to see. Barbara was a member of Vinton Church of Christ where she volunteered in many areas throughout her life.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents Ronald Thomas and Mary Louise Sprouse, the father of her children, Ernest "Pat" Noell Sr., son, Ernest "PeeWee" Noell Jr., and sisters, Gale Campbell, and Janice Latham.

Barbara is survived by her husband, Dennis "Denny" Hodge; daughters and sons-in-law, Jackie and Mike Hodge, Dulcie and Michael Loyd; grandchildren, Tiffany and Winston Rodriguez, Brittany and Chris Scott, Brandon Loyd, Leah, and Ben Jones, and Courtney Hodge; great-grandchildren, Ava Scott, Wesley Flynn, Emerson Scott; sister, Betty Janney; brother, Ronald "Ronnie" Sprouse Jr.; along with a big extended family.

The family would like to thank Good Samaritan for the care of Barbara over the last month.

A Celebration of Life will be held on February 24, 2024, at Vinton Church of Christ 2107 Feather Rd Vinton, Va. 24179 at 2 pm with Visitation at 1 pm.
