Obituary

Andrew "Drew" Michael Troth, 64, of Roanoke, VA, passed away on Sunday, January 7, 2024.  He was born on May 18, 1959, in Dayton, Ohio to the late Dr. William Andrew Troth and the late Dr. Marilyn Mumma Troth.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his twin brother, William Karl Troth.

Drew is survived by his girlfriend of 35 years, Sherry Kessel of Roanoke, VA; sister, Lisa Kristine Troth of Wilmington, NC; nephews, Harrison Field Kesling of Raleigh, NC, and Benjamin Lee Johnson of Wilmington, NC; niece, Kristine Elizabeth Kesling (Dylan Fendrich) of Jamestown, NC; and his beloved cat, Jasmine.

After graduating high school in Commerce, Texas, Drew obtained his BS degree from Radford University and soon after graduation, joined the military becoming a member of the 82nd Airborne. He worked as a professional painter, opening Drew's Painting Company for a period of time. Drew had many hobbies over the years. He enjoyed golf, was a voracious reader, enjoyed dancing, keeping abreast of world history, and current events, and loved a good political debate.

Drew was a very compassionate, caring, and kind man who was very protective of his loved ones. After developing premature coronary artery disease Drew focused more on emotionally supporting others. He worked as a Teacher's Aid for Roanoke City Schools and as a caregiver with Home Instead of Roanoke, VA.

Drew was loved by many and will be dearly missed.
