Painter
Nov 22, 1963 — Jul 27, 2025
Amanda Jane Painter, lovingly known as "Mandy," passed away peacefully on July 27, 2025, in Roanoke, Virginia. She was 61 years old.
Born on November 22, 1963, in Roanoke, Mandy graduated from William Fleming High School, Class of 1982. She was a lifelong member of Hollins Road Church of the Brethren, where she was raised, baptized, and remained grounded in her faith.
Mandy retired from Allstate in 2001 due to chronic health conditions, but her vibrant spirit remained unshaken. She treasured time spent with family and friends, especially her beloved son, Austin. She had a passion for flea markets, jewelry, music, movies, and animals, and she found comfort and joy in nature.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Shelva Jean Sarver Painter and William Ray "Billy" Painter Sr., and her brother, William "Will" Painter Jr.
Left to cherish her memory are her devoted son, Austin Wayne Vaden; her sister, Beth Jones (Melvin); and her aunts, Rosemarie Goode (Phillip) and Carolyn Franklin. Mandy will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her love of life's simple pleasures, and her unwavering kindness.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Hollins Road Church of the Brethren, officiated by Pastor Harold Boyd.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hollins Road Church of the Brethren in Mandy's honor.
